7 Keys to Building a Super Successful Etsy Store or any ecommerce store for that matter...
A solid strategy for building a successful Etsy store is based not only on current market factors, but also on good old common sense. The keys I have listed offer some ideas to help you plan your strategy.
Key #1 Choose a Memorable Name
Of course you want to decide on your store’s name fairly quickly, but, at the same time, it should be easy to remember. Thinking about your niche or relating the name to your product or service is one way. Adding the word ‘shop’ or ‘boutique’ is another.
Key #2 Tell Your Shop’s Story
Your About section is a great place to tell the story of your store. It’s also the perfect place to connect with buyers and share information—which is really what the Etsy community is all about—with openness and clarity.
Key #3 Don’t Forget about SEO
Want to increase page views and have your Etsy store become more discoverable through search? Then optimize your site’s wording by brainstorming keywords. Keywords are simply the words and phrases your customers might use to find your items.
Key #4 Research Your Product
Where can you make your mark? You can find out by researching your product and seeing what your competition is doing right. What’s more is that if you can figure out what it is they can improve on then you may have just found your mark.
Key #5 Display Professional Photos
Although I know this is a much-discussed point, it is, nevertheless, a key factor. It’s worth noting that should always use captivating product photos with vibrant colors that are of professional standards. Customers want to know exactly what they’re buying.
Key #6 Determine Packaging and Shipping Options
It’s important to consider options for your Etsy store that suit the nature of your business and products. Still, you’ll want to stay on top of your expenses so you can list out the proper fees.
But Etsy’s Triona Fritsch explains that shipping methods aren’t just about pricing. “Research the other offerings that may be included in your choices, like tracking, signature confirmation, and insurance. All this information should be available on your mail carrier’s website.”
Key #7 Connect with Customers
It’s not hard to develop and maintain great customer relations. By replying promptly to questions and feedback about your Etsy store, for example, your customers will feel valued and they will come back. And this, in the end, is your key to lasting success!
