This article looks at each of our partners approaches to providing service to their customers who need an eBay Integration Shopify plus Bigcommerce and Etsy.

eBay Integration Etsy: Importing eBay Product Listings to Etsy

Most noteworthy, Etsy was founded by former eBay employees. Because they believed eBay overlooked the market for homemade and vintage items. Since they never needed to have or wanted a tool for eBay integration with Etsy. So none exists. Because Etsy grew so rapidly after its 2005 founding that eBay took notice. As a result, they began to compete directly with Etsy. So now sellers can list art supplies on eBay auctions or for sale on an Etsy Shop. Somewhat surprisingly, Etsy still did not respond to that challenge. Instead, they have a very active internal patrol force that screens out sellers who do not meet their standards. Rather, they aggressively remove those products/sellers who are not vintage and/or homemade.

In conclusion, not many vendors offer an eBay to Etsy sync. Especially relevant, our prices are very affordable and being with a 7-day free trial at $49 per month afterwards.

eBay Integration Bigcommerce: Importing eBay Product Listings to Bigcommerce

For a long time, Bigcommerce ignored the need for eBay integration. Today, they have released software which will perform inventory integration between Bigcommerce stores and their eBay Accounts. However, it will not sync products or prices and will not handle (as far as we know) multiple eBay accounts, provide custom code services for special situations, etc. We do not see this as competition, as those store owners with unchanging product lines were never our preferred customers.

Interestingly, outside of CSV there is no other App method to transfer eBay listings to Bigcommerce.

eBay Integration Shopify: Importing eBay Product Listings to Shopify

Maybe our stiffest competition we get is from Shopify and their “free” eBay Importer. It performs a primitive copy only. There is no real eBay integration. And the Importer has been plagued with complaints regarding duplicate items being imported. In September the Importer broke down completely and was unable to transfer images from eBay to Shopify. Hence it is outmoded and should be replaced.

After much analysis, it was determined that eBay had placed some restrictions on Shopify servers getting images. Finally, Shopify solved the problem after 3 weeks. Maybe shopify simply ended up switching the IP Address or arrived at a fee arrangement with eBay. As a result, lets’ hope for the best if a real turf war breaks out. Most of all, it’s clear the eBay Shopify Importer does not handle what Shopify needs long term.

Rather, we offer a far superior free eBay listing import. And a paid sync package for those that need it.
