There is great excitement in small business over the recent election of Donald Trump. The stock market is showing this. How will this affect the multi-channel eBay seller? We shall explore that here.
Survey says
Earlier today (December 13th), Bloomberg published this story: https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2016-12-13/small-business-owners-optimism-skyrockets-following-trump-victory. Since November 8th, hope among small business regarding the state of the economy has jumped. Specifically:
President-elect Donald Trump’s victory in the U.S. elections is a giant leap for small businesses, according to a survey of their owners.
The November reading of the National Federation of Independent Businesses’ small business optimism index jumped to 98.4 from 94.9 — its sharpest surge since 2009 — with all of the increase in sentiment coming after the U.S. elections held on Nov. 8.
What’s good for the goose is also good for the gander. This optimism applies to the multi-channel eBay seller as well. But what are the benefits?
- Lower taxes
- Less Regulation
- New markets opened
Let’s explore each of these. Since they all apply to the multi-channel eBay seller.
Lower taxes
This one is a no-brainier. Everyone benefits from lower taxes. More money for you means less for them. Whether you sell on Amazon, eBay, Shopify, Bigcommerce and/or Etsy. Contrary to recent news reports, I dare the Republicans in Congress to even attempt to block this. The public backlash will be fatal to them.
Less Regulation
Again, a no-brainier. Whether it’s making it easier to get a loan. Or reducing the length of tax forms (another Trump promise). The benefit again, is to the small business owner, specifically, you, the multi-channel eBay seller.
New Markets opened
This is a byproduct of the above two benefits. With more money flowing freely, you can take more risk. And move into additional markets, including Shopify, Bigcommerce, Etsy Amazon, etc. Because the money will be there. Because the customers will be there. Most of all it will make sense to do.
The Multi-Channel eBay Seller will Soar
In summary, we expect Trump’s plan to pass through Congress early in 2017 and a real economic recovery can begin. All business owners will benefit, including the multi-channel eBay seller. Expect to see growing sales and more money in your pocket. As a result, we look forward to 2017. Therefore thank you, President Elect Trump.
